Admission Requirements:

Cover letter with current resume. One year of work experience in related area or two completed internships (totally 4-6 months).  Statement of purpose (300 - 500 words). Two original and official copies of all College/University transcripts in English from all institutions of higher learning (and in the original language if other than English) must be mailed in. Official GRE (Graduate Record Examination) or GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) report of scores taken within the last 5 years. Applicants may submit results from either the GRE or GMAT, but most students use the GRE. The Purdue University code number is 1631. The department code is 1RZ-NJ-46 (for GMAT). Three letters of recommendation using the Purdue recommendation form, one must be a Professional affiliation and other two must be Academic affiliation. In addition, international students are required to submit TOEFL scores. A four year Bachelor’s Degree is required, but welcome applications from Bologna Bachelor’s Degree Recipients.

Academic Programs:

Master’s and Ph.D. Programs

Research-based graduate programs lead to a master of science or doctor of philosophy degrees.

Professional Master’s and Doctoral Programs

The Non-Thesis option is the newest M.S. option and meets the needs of those wishing to earn a Master’s Degree and return to industry with no intent of pursuing a Ph.D. Program.

Concentrations (Areas of Study):

The school’s three research centers in foodservice, lodging, and tourism. As part of a major research university, we are able to offer qualified students access to courses in individual areas of interest including food science, foods and nutrition, consumer affairs, engineering, education, industrial management, community planning, and others.

Online/Distance Programs:

No online programs. HTM normally does not approve part-time study or research done away from the campus.
