Completed Online Graduate School Application

  • All sections of the online application must be completed in order for the application to be submitted. Please note: The Diversity Fellowship Applicant Essay is not required for admission consideration to our programs. You are welcomed to complete the Diversity Fellowship Essay should you feel you meet the criteria for the Fellowship award. This Fellowship is awarded through the Purdue University Graduate School independently from your Krannert Master Programs admission process.

Essay Question

Full-Time MBA, One-Year MBA for STEM Professionals and Master’s Programs

  • One essay question must be completed within the online application. For ease of review, please include the essay question itself above the text of your question response. You are required to complete and submit the Statement of Purpose, along with ONE required essay(there is an optional essay).
    • Statement of Purpose (500 words max): Please submit a statement introducing yourself to the admissions committee. Some topics you may wish to discuss include:
      1. Brief academic and professional background
      2. Reason for seeking an MBA or Master’s degree at Purdue
      3. Desired career path after graduation
      4. Your thoughts on giving back as a student and as an alumnus
    • Required Essay: Integrity (500 words max): What does integrity mean to you? How does integrity relate to building communities of trust in academic, personal and professional settings? What expectation should Purdue have towards its students with regards to academic integrity? What consequences should students who do not uphold these standards face?
    • Optional Essay: (250 words max): If you feel there are any parts of your application that require additional explanation, or if there is any additional information you wish to share with the admissions committee, please use this optional essay as an opportunity to do so.

Weekend MBA

Two essay questions must be completed within the online application. For ease of review, please include the essay question itself above the text of your question response.
You are required to complete and submit the Statement of Purpose, along with TWO required essays(there is an optional essay).

Please describe your experience and/or philosophy as a leader, supervisor or team manager. What are some of the key challenges and successes you’ve had or expect to have? Limit your response to no more than 500 words.*

Team/Cohort Approach (600 words maximum): What are your expectations of a peer and team-based learning environment in which you go through the program with the same group of students? As part of your answer, please mention what skills you bring to working within such an approach, with an emphasis on how you best learn and how you help others learn.*

Additional Contributions (300 words maximum): If you feel there are any parts of your application that require additional explanation or if there is any additional information you wish to share to help us fully understand your application, please share that information within this essay.

Two Recommendations

  • Recommendations will only be accepted by submitting through the online application (no paper recommendations will be accepted). We prefer that recommenders be employers who are able to render an opinion on the basis of close, current, and sustained observation. We strongly urge (but do not require) that one recommendation be from your direct supervisor. Recommendations from friends, family members, acquaintances, and other sources unable to evaluate professional or academic qualifications for MBA study are not acceptable. No more than two recommendations are needed. We require your recommenders to submit the recommendations online (instructions to do so are provided within the online application). Please note that we will not receive your application until your recommendations have been submitted through the online application.

Academic Transcripts

  • Two official transcripts from each college or university you have attended as a registered student are required as part of your application. We request that the registrar enclose the transcripts in the institution’s standard business envelope, seal the envelope and sign across the seal of the envelope
  • If your college or university uses a 3rd party company (ie. Transcripts Network) as a platform to deliver your transcript, Purdue University will only accept the transcript as official if you use their e-transcript option. Please send to krannertmasters@purdue.edu. Transcripts sent to any other email will not be considered official. If you are unable to utilize the e-transcript feature you must go directly to your college or university’s registrar office to request an official sealed copy of your transcript to mail directly to our office.
  • MBA and Master’s Program applicants should send their transcript documents directly to the Purdue MBA and Master’s Programs Admissions Office, Rawls Hall, Room 2020, 100 S. Grant Street, West Lafayette, IN 47907-2076.
