Kinesiology, BS

About the Program

The Kinesiology major is based on the idea of studying human movement and sport from the point of view of sub-disciplines in kinesiology. The curriculum includes courses in exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control, motor development, and sport and exercise psychology. Students will choose four advanced courses, based on their interests, to further develop their knowledge. Students also have the opportunity to work with a professor to conduct research in a specific area of Kinesiology. This major offers excellent preparation for students who plan to attend graduate school in an area of kinesiology or professional school. Examples include physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), medicine, physician assistant (PA), chiropractic, biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor learning, motor development, etc. Students in this major can choose to pursue an optional Clinical Exercise Physiology Concentration.
