PSY 42100 - Alcohol Use And Disorders

Credit Hours: 3.00. The goal of this course is to provide students with a broad understanding of the biological bases of alcohol abuse and alcoholism. The course will cover neuroanatomical, neurochemical and biological systems that regulate the biological and behavioral response to alcohol. Coverage will also include discussions of the role of environment, age, gender, among other factors that influence the response to alcohol and propensity toward abuse and addiction. The course will also cover the neuroscience of treatment and relapse. Typically offered Spring.Credits: 3.00
