PHYS 42200 - Waves And Oscillations

Credit Hours: 3.00.  Physics of waves and oscillations including sound, elastic waves, and electromagnetic waves such as light. Topics range from the theory of simple harmonic oscillators, transverse modes of a continuous string, and physical optics including interference, Fresnel and Fraunhofer diffraction, and resolution, to diffraction of X-rays and electrons by crystals. Optionally includes topics such as nonlinear waves and surface waves. Typically offered Fall Spring.Credits: 3.00
