BCHM 46500 - Biochemistry Of Life Processes Credit Hours: 2.00. Major questions in biochemistry and contemporary approaches to these problems. Material covered in class will primarily be derived from primary literature. Students will continue to develop the skills needed to critically read, evaluate, and assimilate the primary scientific literature. Learning Outcomes 1. Understand the molecular principles of life based on the core disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.
2. Understand the scientific method.
3. Develop hypotheses, design experiments and critically analyze results to create new knowledge.
4. Acquire information literacy: the ability to locate, evaluate and utilize information in the disciplines of biochemistry and molecular biology that is required for research, data analysis and communication.
5. Appreciate the ethical issues facing professionals in the life sciences.
6. Understand the contribution of our discipline to society, including improvements to medicine, agriculture, the economy and the environment. Credits: 2.00
