HDFS 45400 - Internship & Career Preparation For Developmental And Family Science Credit Hours: 2.00. This course includes an overview of HDFS-related professions, self-evaluation, career search skills, exploration of internship opportunities, and professional development. Students will complete arrangements for their field placement. Learning Outcomes 1. Assess career interests and identify potential internship sites.
2. Create a professional cover letter and resume.
3. Identify how resources available at the Purdue Center for Career Opportunities (CCO) and its website (myCCO) can be used in the job/internship search.
4. Develop skills and strategies for conducting an effective job/internship search.
5. Develop and apply professional interviewing skills.
6. Demonstrate professional behavior through the successful and timely completion of course assignments.
7. Demonstrate preparation for the transition from student to intern. Credits: 2.00
