STAT 52200 - Sampling And Survey Techniques

Credit Hours: 3.00.  This course covers basic sampling design and analysis techniques. Sampling designs include: simple random, stratified, clustered, multi-staged, and systematic samples. Methods of estimation appropriate to design features and efficiency and costs related to sample design are covered.
Learning Outcomes
1. Develop a basic understanding of probability and inferential theory underlying sampling statistics.
2. Understand and apply complex sample design features to sampling plans.
3. Apply proper statistical analyses to data collected using complex sample designs.
4. Interpret statistical estimates and tests.
5. Analyze data from complex samples using SAS, R, STATA or other software.
