TECH 67600 - Analysis Of Research Methods Credit Hours: 3.00. Analysis of research and evaluation of research reports and funding - emphasis on understanding the application of fundamental statistical methods in design and interpretation of research findings in industrial, technical, business, and government environments. Learning Outcomes 1. Identify descriptive statistics appropriate to sampling used.
2. Evaluate appropriate use of inferential statistics.
3. Determine when data favor nonparametric vis-a-vis parametric statistical analysis.
4. Use manual and library database methods to find appropriate research and write an appropriate research report that will add to your body of knowledge.
5. Explain procedures for computer-aided data base searches of published research.
6. Identify descriptive research, surveys, and prediction studies.
7. Differentiate between experimental and quasi-experimental studies.
8. Identify common errors in research.
9. Develop a working knowledge or basic vocabulary and concepts or research methods (quant and qual).
10. Evaluate and critique research studies and articles.
11. Be familiar with a multitude of different types of research.
12. Differentiate between varying qualities of research studies and reports.
13. Understand how and why a university does research and how it is funded.
