EDCI 42800 - Teaching Science In The Middle And Junior High School
Credit Hours: 2.00. Designed to prepare preservice teachers to teach science in the middle and junior high school (grades 5-9). No undergraduate students may be enrolled in any of these undergraduate courses until they have been admitted to teacher education.
Learning Outcomes
1. Gain knowledge about Indiana’s middle school science standards. 2. Gain knowledge about curriculum of the courses that they will be student teaching. 3. Gain knowledge about relevant professional organizations and communities. 4. Gain skills to write a high school science lesson plan and teach. 5. Gain skills to write a lab lesson plan. 6. Gain skills to identify and use resources from professional communities. 7. Gain skills to develop project-based learning unit. 8. Gain skills to write a lesson plan to teach NOS. 9. Gain skills to collaborate in a team of teachers.
