POL 22300 - Introduction To Environmental Policy (UCC: BSS/STS)


Credit Hours: 3.00.  (FNR 22310) Explores how modern societies address environmental and natural resource challenges with an emphasis on decision-making processes. The course examines these topics in the American political system while also considering international perspectives.
Learning Outcomes
1.  Compare different approaches to analyzing and addressing public policy in the area of the environment and natural resources, contrasting the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches. 2.  Use relevant evidence to formulate descriptions of core policies related to environmental problems, in the U.S. and internationally. 3.  Demonstrate knowledge of key events, actors and outcomes in environmental policy history, and analyze the political feasibility of proposed policies. 4.  Critique different views on several crucial debates in environmental policy today.
