EDCI 52800 - Human Performance Technology Credit Hours: 3.00. This course provides an introduction to the field of human performance technology (HPT). It examines basic concepts and principles of human performance, the theoretical underpinnings of the field, research and application literature, and various approaches to solving human performance problems. A systematic approach to the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of performance improvement interventions within organizations is emphasized. The basics of change management will also be introduced and practiced. Learning Outcomes 1. Identify the major theoretical underpinnings of the field of HPT.
2. Analyze a human performance system in order to diagnose a performance gap.
3. Determine whether training, a non-training performance intervention, or a combination is most appropriate for a given situation.
4. Construct a systemic plan to address performance issue(s), including coordinated interventions and evaluation strategies.
5. Design and develop appropriate interventions to address specific performance gaps.
6. Create a vision of change and a plan to diffuse interventions throughout an organization. Credit Hours: 3.00
