EDPS 45901 - Assistive Technology (UCC: STS) Credit Hours: 1.00. This course explores the use of Universal Design for Learning as a framework for Differentiated Instruction. Additionally, this course addresses the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication and Assistive Technology by individuals with disability requiring mild, moderate, and intense intervention. Learning Outcomes 1. Understand the principals of UDL as a framework for differentiated instruction.
2. Understand the legal and ethical issues regarding UDL, Differentiated Instruction, AAC, and AT.
3. Assess individuals with disability for appropriate technology services and devices.
4. Demonstrate data-based decision-making to differentiate instruction and/or identify appropriate technology of a target learner requiring mild, moderate, or intense intervention. Credit Hours: 1.00
