POL 52901 - Applied Policy And Program Evaluation Credit Hours: 3.00. This course introduces students to the logic of designing and implementing program evaluations to assess implemented policies and programs. The course examines research designs for different evaluation goals, the application of evaluation strategies, and strategies for reporting results to specialist and non-specialist audiences. Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the role and principles of evidence-based policymaking and program evaluation, including ethical considerations. 2. Explain the different aspects of evaluation, including inputs, outputs, outcomes, impacts, and processes, and identify complementary evaluation strategies. 3. Compare and contrast different methods for program impact evaluation, including ethical considerations. 4. Synthesize knowledge of program evaluation strategies to solve applied problems. 5.
