ACCT 63640 - Accounting Scandals

Credit Hours: 2.00.  Crime and police dramas have been a staple of television and movies since television and movies were invented. Most of the time, the crimes depicted are murders and robberies, but sometimes, they make shows about corporate frauds. In this course, we will learn about corporate frauds by studying frauds depicted in movies and shows.
Learning Outcomes
1. Analyze the methods used by fraudsters in major fraud cases to understand their strategies and techniques. 2. Detect and explain the red flags associated with frauds similar to those studied. 3. Evaluate fraud prevention tools and recommend strategies that could effectively prevent frauds similar to those studied.
