CS 57000 - Computer Vision With Deep Learning Credit Hours: 3.00. Computer vision is the field of developing machines that can interpret and understand visual information. This course will cover the fundamentals of major computer vision tasks, beginning with the basics of image formation and progressing to modern approaches. Each topic will be explored in three stages: (a) introducing the application, (b) examining classical solutions, and (c) studying how deep learning and modern methods address the problem. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation for conducting research in computer vision, as well as the technical background required to understand and implement state-of-the-art vision methods. Learning Outcomes 1. Identify computer vision tasks, formulate the classic solution and the modern solution.
2. Explain and understand the fundamental principles behind designing effective computer vision systems and analyze them.
3. Gain practical experience in handling images, videos, and 3D data in computer vision systems.
4. Gain the ability to read and understand state-of-the-art computer vision papers. Credit Hours: 3.00
