HORT 42100 - Fruit Production Credit Hours: 3.00. This course will teach the science and practice of temperate fruit production with emphasis on pome fruit (apples, pears), stone fruit (peaches, plums, cherries), berry crops (strawberries, brambles, blueberries) and grapes. Principles and concepts will be an important part of the class integrating knowledge of plant physiology, biochemistry and post-harvest physiology. The course will emphasize sustainable production practices and prepare students to think critically to solve fruit production problems. Typically offered Fall.
