The Purdue University Department of Theatre offers MFA degrees in Acting, Audio Technology, Costume Design, Lighting Design, Scenic Design, Sound Design, and Technical Direction. Students learn from a faculty and staff of professional artists, technicians, and scholars working at the top of their fields, in a supportive and rigorous environment, intended to prepare students for fulfilling careers in the professional or educational theatre and the entertainment industries.

The Master of Fine Arts degree program in the Department of Art and Design at Purdue University provides a dynamic interdisciplinary environment in which students intensively develop and refine their artistic and/or design aesthetic under the mentorship of actively engaged artists and designers. The three-year curriculum combines studio research, theory, and art/design history courses, allowing students to form study plans according to their specific needs.

*Admission to the graduate programs in Art Education is restricted. Those interested in applying for an MA or Ph.D. in Art Education should first contact the Director of A&D Graduate Program for permission to apply.
