Master’s and Ph.D. Programs

  • BMS offers graduate study leading toward a master’s degree and a doctoral degree.

The Department of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) offers graduate study leading toward a master’s degree and a doctoral degree, as well as a combined degree/dual degree option for students in the DMV professional curriculum. A degree from BMS can lead to an exciting academic or industrial career in biomedical sciences and because of its size, the BMS graduate program is ideal for students who wish to do their graduate work in a department that allows time and opportunity for individual attention and a close student-advisor mentoring relationship. Opportunities are available for combining teaching in the professional DVM curriculum with dissertation research. This combination of research and teaching experience helps create a highly employable graduate, especially for those who are considering careers in academia.
