Academic Programs

Master’s and PhD Programs
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction provides graduate programs of study in diverse areas encompassing teacher education, higher education, and education for business and industry. The department prepares education professionals for leadership positions in schools, higher education, and the workplace. Faculty members conduct research on the teaching and learning process across a wide variety of educational contexts. The department strives to provide first-rate educational leadership in a diverse, interconnected, and technology-rich world.
Teacher Licensing (graduate licensure programs)
For information on which Graduate programs lead to an Instructional or Administrative State of Indiana Educator License, and the obligations therein, visit the Office of Teacher Education and Licensure (OTEL) Graduate Programs website.
 
Graduates of accredited universities and colleges who wish to enter Purdue University to complete requirements for an Indiana initial or Advanced License should contact the Office of Teacher Education and Licensure for the appropriate procedures. Graduates who wish to complete licensure requirements may do so on the same basis and criteria as other graduate students. Such applicants must meet the general admission requirements of the department and the Graduate School, as well as obtain permission from the Office of Teacher Education and Licensure (OTEL) to enter the specific licensure program in which they are interested. Students must meet all degree (if applicable), Teacher Education Program, and Indiana licensure requirements prior to being recommended for licensure by the Office of Teacher Education and Licensure (OTEL).
