Master’s Degree Program Basic Requirements:

If you are interested in applying for a clinical pathology or anatomic pathology residency program you should apply to the non-thesis Master’s/residency program for the appropriate area through the Department of Comparative Pathobiology. Do NOT apply to Veterinary Clinical Sciences.

  • Undergraduate Cumulative Grade Point Average:
    3.0 or equivalent required for unconditional admission.
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE):
    Required – Combined score of 300 for verbal and quantitative sections plus 3.0 analytical writing score for unconditional admission.
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Subject Test:
    Not required

Doctoral Degree Program Basic Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Cumulative Grade Point Average:
    3.0 or equivalent required for unconditional admission.
  • Master’s Degree Completion:
    Not required.
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE):

  • Master of Science (MS) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees to persons possessing the DVM degree and to those with a baccalaureate degree and comprehensive training in the biological sciences

  • Areas of study include animal welfare science, human-animal interaction, bacteriology, epidemiology, immunology, laboratory and experimental medicine, parasitology, pathology, public health, toxicology, and virology
