About the Program
The Department of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) combines the personal attention of a small department, with a unique breadth of training. BMS offers graduate study leading toward a master’s degree and a doctoral degree. The department also offers a combined degree/dual degree option for students in the DVM professional curriculum. Because of its size, the BMS graduate program is ideal for students who wish to do their graduate work in a department that allows time and opportunity for individual attention and close student-advisor mentoring relationships. Opportunities are available for combining teaching in the professional DVM curriculum with dissertation research. This combination of research and teaching experience helps create a highly employable graduate, especially for those who are considering careers in academia. Program Website Program Requirements
