Theatre Acting Concentration for Theatre

Acting Concentration (18 credits)
This concentration allows an additional 6 credit emphasis on performance beyond the Theatre, BA plan of study.
A. Required Practicum Courses (3 credits)
Students enroll in three practicum credits from the courses below. Enrollment is by audition for both; both are variable credits; both may be repeated for credit. B. Required Performance Courses (11 credits)
These courses are to be selected from within sections B2 & C of the Theatre major plan of study. C. Required Performance Selective (4 credits)
Choose from the courses below. They may not duplicate courses required for the Theatre, BA plan of study.
Notes
- A minimum grade of “C-” or better is required in all theatre courses to remain in and advance in the program. The P/NP option is not available for this requirement.
- Acting majors must maintain a GPA of 2.5 in order to be considered for casting in production work. Acting majors are required to audition for and accept one mainstage role per semester, as cast.
- 2.0 Graduation GPA required for Bachelor of Arts degree.
- 32-credit hours of Purdue coursework at the 30000-level or higher required for Bachelor of Arts degree.
