About the Program
Today’s veterinarian has a multitude of career opportunities not only in private practice, but also in public practice, corporate practice, industry public health, food resource management, wildlife conservation, and marine biology. Veterinary researchers participate in cutting-edge advancements in veterinary medicine that often lead the way to applications in human medicine. Purdue’s Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine allows students to take their passions and apply them to advance animal, and even human, health. See the DVM Program for requirements and additional information including an early admission program for high achieving high school seniors. Students can explore the program as early as high school, middle school or grade school. For high school and middle school students interested in a week long summer camp to experience the world of veterinary medicine, the department hosts Boiler Vet Camp every summer.
