Technology Leadership and Innovation: Digital Innovation Concentration, MS

Location(s): West Lafayette, Online, Hybrid

About the Program

Purdue’s Polytechnic Institute’s Master’s degree in Technology Leadership and Innovation helps students advance in their career or provide new career options. The core curriculum is focused on providing leadership skills in industry and technology, from evaluation to quality and project management. From there, students will be able to select a concentration. Current concentrations include: Digital Innovation (see below) and STEM Education Leadership .

The curriculum provides coursework that will help students focus on career plans and advancement. It also allows for exploration in a related area, such as education, engineering, or management.

The field of Digital Innovation is at the intersection of innovation studies, information systems, information and data sciences. This graduate program aims to educate a new generation of leaders and system designers to provide new vision for the development of digital innovation in business and industries. The research mission of the program is to integrate real-world problem solving with scientific inquiry through user-inspired research. The program aims to engage students in action-oriented field research as well as digital innovation experiments, in which students translate real-world problems into scientific questions and develop sound and rigorous propositions to be tested in a series of experiments (e.g. online crowdsourcing with an experimental research design), or through data-driven natural experiments and archival data analysis. Whether students seek a professional career or aim to pursue a research path, they will be equipped with foundational knowledge in innovation and strategy, information systems, and also research methods and statistics.
