In the Civil Engineering’s Geomatics Engineering emphasis area, students will have the opportunity to study property boundary determination, digital mapping, geodesy, geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), land information management, photogrammetry, and remote sensing. The Geomatics faculty are dedicated to effective teaching and cutting-edge research.

Required Courses (21-30 credits)

At the master’s level, both a non-thesis and a thesis option are available. The 30-credit requirement for a master’s degree is satisfied by completing 30 course credits (non-thesis option) or 21 course credits plus a thesis (9 credits) for the for thesis-option.

Track Courses (3-9 credits)

Photogrammetry Track (9 credits)

Geodesy Track (9 credits)

Remote Sensing Track (3 credits)

GIS Track (6 credits)

Seminar Courses (0 credits)

Registration in the Geomatics Seminar, CE691, is required of all graduate students in the fall and spring semesters. The seminar is generally held once a week. It is also intended for student presentations of their research. All Master’s and Doctoral students make a presentation once a year.
