About the Program
The MFA program in Lighting Design in Purdue University’s Department of Theatre prepares students for fulfilling careers in professional or educational theatre and the entertainment industry. Students develop technical training and skills in a balanced program of classes, work on realized productions, and individualized tutorials. Program Website Program Requirements

Tutorial Internship (6 credits)
Students must register for THTR 669 for a Tutorial Internship in the Fall of their 3rd year. Terminal Project Course (6 credits)
MFA students must register for THTR 697 in the Fall and Spring of their 3rd year and complete a terminal project. Designing lighting for a mainstage production with extensive research, preparation, and paperwork will be the culmination of students’ time at Purdue.
