About the Program
The MFA program in Audio Technology in Purdue University’s Department of Theatre prepares students for fulfilling careers in professional or educational theatre and the entertainment industry. Students develop technical training and skills in a balanced program of classes, work on realized productions, and individualized tutorials. Program Website Program Requirements

Tutorial Internship (6 credits)
Students must register for THTR 669 for a Tutorial Internship in the Fall of their 3rd year. Terminal Project Course (6 credits)
MFA students must register for THTR 697 in the Fall and Spring of their 3rd year and complete a terminal project. The culmination of students’ time at Purdue will come in the form of a design for an extensive reinforcement PA, typically for a large musical. This work will form the basis for their Terminal Project or Thesis. Electives (12 credits)
Students should choose four courses for electives. Typically chosen from courses 500-level and above in Acoustics, Electrical, and Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Graphics Technology, etc. GPA Requirements
Only 6 credit hours of courses below the 500 level, and within the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, can be counted toward the 60 credit hour minimum. Graduate Programs Disclaimer
