About the Concentration
Infrastructure improvements are predicted to increase demand for interdisciplinary civil engineers with robust skillsets who play pivotal roles in building and maintaining public resources. The Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Sustainability (IRS) track within the online MSCE program will prepare a new generation of civil engineers to meet the challenges of the future and create durable, sustainable, and effective public infrastructure that will move the nation forward. The IRS track gives students a strong foundation in issues related to the analysis, design, and construction of civil infrastructure - with a special focus on sustainable materials, natural resilience, and new advancements in infrastructure planning and construction. Required Courses (24 credits)
Core Courses (15 credits)
Students are required to complete at least 9 credits from the tracks listed below and 6 additional CE graduate-level credits, chosen from any of the other tracks. Construction Materials & NDT Courses (0-9 credits)
If choosing this track, students must take all the courses listed below for 9 credits total. In addition, they should take 6 credits from another track. Digital Twin of Infrastructure Courses (0-9 credits)
If choosing this track, students must take all the courses listed below for 9 credits total. In addition, they should take 6 credits from another track. Steel Specialist Courses (0-9 credits)
If choosing this track, students must take all the courses listed below for 9 credits total. In addition, they should take 6 credits from another track. Structural Engineering Courses (0-12 credits)
If choosing this track, students must choose at least three courses listed below for 9 credits total. In addition, they should take 6 credits from another track. Technical Selectives (9 credits)
Technical selectives can include courses from 500/600-level CE, ME, or ECE courses, as well as the courses listed below. |
