About the Program

Purdue EEE offers MS (MSEEE), PhD (doctoral), and combined degrees in Environmental and Ecological Engineering. EEE’s multidisciplinary faculty train graduates to approach problems holistically, considering the entire life cycle of a product/process, as well as the broader environmental and ecological contexts. This scope includes assessing the social, political, cultural, and economic restrictions that influence the real-world feasibility of implementing environmental solutions.

EEE 69500 must be taken the first semester it is offered after a student starts the program. Research credits cannot count toward the 9 credits.

MS thesis and PhD students are required to take EEE 69000 every semester until they graduate. This rule also applies to those who have passed prelims.

Dissertation Research (42-60 credits)

GPA Requirements

The cumulative GPA must be 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or greater to graduate. Within the minimum 30 credit hours for the MS degree, 0 to 6 credit hours of independent project coursework can be applied, as well as 0 to 6 credit hours of coursework at the 300/400 level. Independent project coursework generally is completed under the supervision of an EEE-affiliated faculty member under the course number EEE 59800.
