About the Certificate
Biostatistics is an interdisciplinary study which uses statistical and computational tools to study life sciences and public health-related problems. This certificate will give undergraduate students broad exposure to fundamental and applied knowledge for biostatistics.
Requirements (18-19 credits)
Biological Foundation Course (3-4 credits)
Choose One: Foundations in Statistical Science (6 credits)
Foundations in Public Health (6 credits)
Advanced Quantitative/Computational Methods (3 credits)
Choose One: Learning Outcomes
The biostatistics certificate program’s learning outcomes will consist of the following: Develop a foundation in probability theory and statistics reasoning Master quantitative analysis techniques for the analysis of health science datasets Demonstrate a thorough understanding of epidemiology, clinical research methodology. Acquire computation skills for data management and algorithm implementation
