About the Program


The Technical Communication Graduate Certificate is designed to equip professionals with essential communication skills needed to convey complex technical information effectively in today’s workplace. These skills are valuable not only in technical roles but also in leadership positions, where clear and precise communication is critical for organizational success. Tailored for professionals in a wide variety of industries, this 100% online program positions graduates to be effective communicators in technology-driven environments.

If students opt to continue in the Master’s program, the courses in the certificate program may be credited to the MS in Technology Leadership and Innovation.

Students will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences using appropriate communication strategies, formats, and technologies.
  • Gain an understanding of the organizational context in which technical communication occurs, including organizational structures, cultures, and communication processes. 
  • Develop critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate technical information to solve problems and make informed decisions in organizational settings.  
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams to plan, develop, and deliver technical communication projects that meet organizational goals and objectives. 
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards in technical communication, including issues related to intellectual property, privacy, accessibility, and diversity.
