About the Program
The 100% online International Development Graduate Certificate is an interdisciplinary program from the Colleges of Agriculture, Engineering, and Liberal Arts. The purpose is to provide education and training for the tens of thousands of program managers across the world who are working in the international development field. The certificate equips professionals with essential skills to tackle economic and social challenges. Combining agricultural expertise, engineering insight and political science, it addresses food security, trade, sustainability and resilience. This interdisciplinary program is designed to advance the careers of project managers, policymakers, engineers analysts and other professionals who work in international development areas. Students will: - Examine international development from a holistic, interdisciplinary lens to have a multifaceted approach to solving global development challenges.
- Demonstrate practical skills for working in the field of development including communication, organization, leadership, and analysis.
- Judge the efficacy of applying appropriate theoretical frameworks for engaging stakeholders in projects to create sustainable impact.
- Evaluate the relevance of results from applying principles and applications of ethical decision making and professional development in international settings.
- Identify and develop appropriate resources for funding and managing international development projects and/or partnerships.
GPA Requirements
A graduate student is expected to maintain a graduation index representing a B average (3.0/4.0 GPA) or better. A student’s 12 credits of graduate coursework must be cumulatively calculated at a 3.0 or higher to receive the certificate. Graduate Programs Disclaimer
