About the Program


Students pursuing our Master of Science in Educational Psychology & Research Methodology include:

  • Graduate students whose ultimate educational goal is a PhD
  • Graduate students seeking employment in Master’s-level positions that apply educational psychology or education statistics, such as assessment specialists, learning analysts, program evaluators, and corporate trainers.
  • Teachers seeking advanced academic qualifications

Master’s students can pursue a thesis or non-thesis option. See below for each set of requirements.

37 Credits Required

Required Courses (16 credits)


Primary Area Electives (9 credits)


Students should take three electives in consultation with their advisor.

Related Area Elective (6 credits)


Students should take two electives from an area outside of educational psychology, in consultation with their advisor.

Thesis Research (6 credits)


Only required for thesis MS students. Students typically take 6-12 credits of EDPS 69800 for their master’s degree.
