About the Certificate

The Aviation Financial Management Post-Baccalaureate Certificate prepares professionals to analyze, design, and implement advanced financial strategies within airline and aviation enterprises. This 12-credit certificate focuses on aviation-specific financial risk management, revenue optimization, aircraft asset valuation, and leasing analysis.

Students examine the integration of operational performance data with financial instruments, including trading and hedging strategies designed to mitigate fuel, commodity, and market volatility. The curriculum emphasizes airline revenue management systems, inventory control, pricing strategy, and simulation-based revenue optimization. Advanced coursework in aircraft asset management and leasing develops expertise in acquisition modeling, present value analysis, capital markets evaluation, taxation considerations, and lease-versus-ownership decision frameworks.

Through applied projects and industry-relevant simulations, students gain experience conducting quantitative financial analyses and developing defensible business cases for aviation capital investment and revenue strategies. Graduates are prepared to support financial decision-making roles in airlines, aircraft leasing firms, aviation consultancies, and aerospace enterprises.

Credits earned in the certificate may be applied toward the Master of Science in Aviation and Aerospace Management, subject to program requirements.
