Marketing Minor

About the Minor


The Marketing Minor offers an opportunity for non-marketing students to develop knowledge and skills in marketing strategy, tactics, and analytics. This minor is an especially valuable one to combine with any STEM or business-related major to better understand how the Marketing function interfaces with other corporate areas and contributes to company success.

Requirements for the Minor

Required Courses (3 credits)


All Courses must be completed with C- or higher.

Selectives (15 credits)


Notes


  • Marketing majors are ineligible for the minor.

  • Only one course can be used to satisfy electives and selectives between two programs (majors, minors, or concentrations).

  • ACCT, DSB, ECON, FIN, MKTG, MIS, QM, REAL, SCOM, STRT courses at the 300 level or higher require upper-division status, though exceptions may apply.

  • A maximum of one course may count toward both a major and a minor or concentration.

  • Enrollment in ACCT, DSB, ECON, FIN, MKTG, MIS, QM, REAL, SCOM, STRT courses is limited, and course availability is not guaranteed.
  • A grade of C- or higher is required for all courses counted toward a minor.
  • Students pursuing any School of Business major, minor, or concentration cannot take courses on a pass/no-pass basis.
  • Transfer credit will be accepted for courses that are a direct match. However, undistributed transfer credit (e.g., DSB 2XXXX) will not be accepted. To check how courses from other institutions transfer to Purdue, use Purdue’s Transfer Credit Course Equivalency Guide.
