About the Program

30 Credits RequiredRequired Courses (15 credits)
Choose five. Substitutes of other courses for courses on this list may be allowed on petition to the department. Electives (9-15 credits)
MS Thesis students should take at least three elective courses. Non-thesis students should take at least five elective courses. Thesis Research (6 credits)
Only required for MS thesis students. Additional Requirements
Oral examination: If the student does not choose the thesis option, an oral examination is required. The oral examination may consist of the presentation and discussion of a published paper chosen by the student and the Chair of the student’s advisory committee. No credit is given for the oral examination. In the case that the student has accumulated three points from the qualifying examinations, the oral examination may be waived. Program Learning Outcomes
