About the Concentration
The Project Management & Organizational Leadership concentration provides focused study in the coordination of technical systems, personnel, and organizational resources within complex, technology-driven environments. Grounded in applied project management principles and organizational leadership theory, the concentration prepares students to plan, execute, and evaluate technical initiatives across multidisciplinary settings.
Students develop competencies in project planning and control, risk assessment, resource allocation, quality management, team leadership, and performance measurement. Emphasis is placed on aligning technical objectives with organizational strategy, managing constraints, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and supporting continuous improvement within operational systems.
Through applied coursework and the engineering technology capstone sequence, students integrate technical knowledge with leadership and management practices to guide projects from concept through implementation. Consideration of ethical responsibility, safety, regulatory compliance, and organizational effectiveness is incorporated into project decision-making.
Graduates are prepared to assume increasing responsibility in roles requiring coordination of technical teams and systems, including technical project supervision, operations leadership, systems implementation management, and organizational process improvement within manufacturing, infrastructure, healthcare, and related technology-driven sectors.
