Supply Chain Concentration for Industrial Engineering Technology

Location(s): West Lafayette

About the Concentration

The Supply Chain concentration prepares Industrial Engineering Technology (IET) students to lead in today’s integrated, data-driven supply networks. Built around an anchor course in Supply Chain Management Technology, the concentration provides foundational knowledge in logistics systems, procurement, distribution, and operational coordination. Students then deepen their expertise through advanced coursework in warehouse and inventory management, global transportation and logistics, strategic supply chain management, or technical and business-to-business sales.

This concentration emphasizes the applied, hands-on approach characteristic of Engineering Technology programs. Students develop practical skills in process optimization, inventory control, transportation strategy, customer relationship management, and sales engineering-connecting technical systems with business performance. Graduates are equipped to analyze supply chain performance, improve operational efficiency, support enterprise-level logistics decisions, and communicate technical value propositions to clients and stakeholders.

Designed specifically for IET majors, the concentration strengthens career readiness for roles such as supply chain analyst, logistics coordinator, operations planner, sales engineer, procurement specialist, or distribution manager. The curriculum reflects industry demand for professionals who understand both the technical infrastructure of supply systems and the strategic relationships that drive organizational success.
