About the Concentration
The Immersive Experience Design & Technology concentration within Multidisciplinary Technology prepares students to design, develop, and implement immersive digital environments that integrate creative design, interactive technologies, and real-time visualization systems. This concentration blends technical modeling, virtual and augmented reality systems, themed experience planning, and digital asset creation to support the growing demand for immersive applications across entertainment, simulation, training, and experiential industries.
Students gain hands-on experience with geometric modeling, environment development in real-time engines, virtual reality interfaces, digital imaging, and prop and asset creation for both virtual and physical deployment. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary collaboration, experiential storytelling, user interaction design, and applied research and development. Students learn to translate conceptual ideas into functional immersive systems that are technically sound, visually compelling, and responsive to user needs.
As part of the Multidisciplinary Technology degree, this concentration supports students in integrating design thinking, technical execution, and project management skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in immersive media development, themed entertainment, experiential marketing, simulation and training systems, interactive environment design, and emerging extended reality (XR) technologies.
