About the Concentration

The Languages & Cultures Area of Concentration enhances the B.S. in Human Resource Development (HRD) by strengthening students’ ability to work effectively across cultures and communicate with diverse employee and stakeholder groups. HRD professionals operate in multicultural and global environments where success depends on cultural competence, perspective-taking, and trust-building across language and cultural differences. This concentration complements HRD’s people-development and evidence-based foundation by building intercultural agility and language proficiency that enhance talent development, employee engagement, coaching, and organizational change efforts.
