About the Program
The MS in Biological Sciences for Integrative Medicine provides advanced training in the biological foundations of health and disease using integrative, systems-based approaches and a One Health framework. The curriculum combines core strengths in molecular and cellular biology, genetics and genomics, microbiome science, immunobiology, disease ecology, and quantitative analysis with focused coursework in nutrition, natural products, pharmacognosy, and regulatory frameworks relevant to biologically active compounds.
Through a One Health perspective, the program emphasizes interactions among genetic, microbial, environmental, and lifestyle factors that shape health outcomes across populations. Designed for students from diverse scientific backgrounds, the major prepares graduates for further professional or doctoral training, as well as careers in biomedical research, biotechnology, regulatory science, and health-related industries, while maintaining a strong foundation in rigorous, evidence-based biological science.
