Academic Programs:

The Department of Educational Studies enjoys the expertise of nationally known faculty who are engaged in the discovery, application, and dissemination of new knowledge centered on three key themes: Educating Diverse Learners, STEM Learning, and Effective Teaching and Leadership. We pride ourselves in preparing students for positions as university professors, researchers, special education professionals, counseling psychologists, educational leaders and supervisors for schools and universities, and testing/measurement/evaluation specialists. Our graduates work in schools, higher education, public agencies, and private industry. 

Graduate Certificates:

Graduate Certificates are not teacher licensure programs.

Master’s, Educational Specialist, and PhD Programs:

Teacher Licensure Programs (graduate licensure programs)

Graduates of accredited universities and colleges who wish to enter Purdue University to complete requirements for an Indiana initial or Advanced License should contact the Office of Teacher Education and Licensure for the appropriate procedures. Graduates who wish to complete licensure requirements may do so on the same basis and criteria as other graduate students. Such applicants must meet the general admission requirements of the department and the Graduate School, as well as obtain permission from the Office of Teacher Education and Licensure (OTEL) to enter the specific licensure program in which they are interested. Students must meet all degree (if applicable), Teacher Education Program, and Indiana licensure requirements prior to being recommended for licensure by the Office of Teacher Education and Licensure (OTEL).
