Research Degree Programs:
Master of Science (MS)
The MS degree in public health is a traditional research master’s program. Students complete 34 credit hours over a two-year period under the guidance of a faculty mentor. A research-based thesis is completed as a graduation requirement, preparing students for doctoral training and careers in research institutions.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
The Ph.D. program is designed to prepare students for careers in high-level research positions in a variety of academic institutions and government agencies as well as private and non-profit organizations. Students must complete a research-intensive dissertation under the mentorship of public health faculty that is aligned with their public health interest area as part of the 90-credit graduation requirement.

Professional Degree Programs
Master of Health Administration (MHA)
The MHA program trains students on a range of health administration-related skills, methods, and tools to ensure cost-effective quality care and patient safety. Students will explore current health administration, health policy, and public health concerns facing the management of complex healthcare organizations. Students are prepared to handle real-world issues that healthcare managers face and the curriculum includes a capstone course where students apply what they have learned to a real healthcare administration problem.

Master of Public Health (MPH)
The MPH program, accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health, prepares students to evaluate and address the changing dynamics affecting health and access to services. It includes a rigorous background in core public health disciplines and specialization in one of two concentrations. Students will develop and apply skills through a 200-hour practicum and culminating project course.
