Computer and Information Technology Department Major Change (CODO) Requirements

Major Change (CODO) Requirements

Students will need to meet the criteria below to be eligible for this major. A student’s catalog term, typically the semester you started at Purdue, will be used to determine the Major Change criteria that applies to you. Students can find their catalog term at the top of their MyPurduePlan below the degree progress bar.

This major change information below is for the catalog term you are currently viewing; see the University Undergraduate Academic Advising Major Change (CODO) website for prior catalog term criteria, more about the major change process and FAQs.

Student Next Steps

The Computer and Information Technology CODO website has many resources available to assist students in learning more about our programs, courses and careers. It is strongly recommended that students meet with a CIT advisor. Contact CIT-Advising@purdue.edu for more information.

Step 1: Meet with your current Academic Advisor to discuss your plans for CODO. Review the information on the Computer and Information Technology CODO Website.

Step 2: Complete the CIT CODO presentation and associated questionnaire in the link above. If after reviewing the presentation, you have further questions, you can email CIT-Advising@purdue.edu with your questions or request a meeting with a CIT Advisor.

Step 3: Submit the required information to CIT-Advising@purdue.edu. After a CIT Advisor reviews your record, you will receive an email with the next steps.

Step 4: If your next step is to request your current advisor submit the electronic CODO application, the deadline is Thursday of finals week no later than 5:00 pm. Late applications will not be accepted.
