Major Change (CODO) Requirements

Purdue students interested in changing their major should meet with their current academic advisor to discuss their options and begin the online process. Once the student’s Major Change (CODO) has been processed, students will receive an email with instructions to authorize the change.

Students will need to meet the criteria below to be eligible for this major. A student’s catalog term, typically the semester you started at Purdue, will be used to determine the Major Change criteria that applies to you. Students can find their catalog term at the top of their MyPurduePlan below the degree progress bar.

Students changing their major to a space restricted program, as designated by SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS ONLY, need to have their Curricular Change Request (CCR) submitted by their home college/school by 5pm the Thursday of Finals week for requests effective the following term to be considered.

General Requirements

• Minimum Semesters:  1
• Minimum West Lafayette Credit Hours:  12
• Minimum Cumulative GPA:  2.5

Course Requirements

3.0 GPA or better AND C- or better in the following:

• ECON 25100 - Microeconomics  (MAI Course)

•  

• MGMT 20000 - Introductory Accounting  (MAI Course) or
• MGMT 21200 - Business Accounting (MAI Course)

•  

• SCLA 10200 - Transformative Texts, Critical Thinking And Communication II: Modern World  (MAI Course) or
• COM 11400 - Fundamentals Of Speech Communication  (MAI Course) or
• COM 21700 - Science Writing And Presentation  (MAI Course) or
• EDPS 31500 - Collaborative Leadership: Interpersonal Skills  (MAI Course)

•  

• SCLA 10100 - Transformative Texts, Critical Thinking And Communication I: Antiquity To Modernity  (MAI Course) or
• ENGL 10600 - First-Year Composition  (MAI Course) or
• ENGL 10800 - Accelerated First-Year Composition  (MAI Course) or
• HONR 19903 - Interdisciplinary Approaches In Writing  (MAI Course)

• MA 16010 - Applied Calculus I  (MAI Course) or
• MA 16100 - Plane Analytic Geometry And Calculus I  (MAI Course) or
• MA 16500 - Analytic Geometry And Calculus I  (MAI Course)

Other Requirements

• Students are accepted for FALL, SPRING, and SUMMER
• Major is open with no anticipated space restrictions
• Students must be in good academic standing (not on academic notice)
• C- or better in any completed MAI course(s) & School of Business Course(s) (MGMT, ECON, OBHR).
• The MAI must consist of at least (2) Daniels School of Business graded courses (MGMT 20000   & ECON 25100  ) or (3) Purdue graded MAI courses.
• Management Admission Course Re-take allowance of MAI courses depends on the number of courses taken at Purdue and/or Daniels School of Business, no more than 2 or 3 MAI courses (or their equivalents) may be taken two times each for a grade.
