Communication Minor

Requirements for the Minor (15 credits)


A. Required Course (3 credits)

C. Communication Course - 20000 level or higher (3 credits)


  • COM 20000 - 59999 (any course EXCEPT COM 21700, which cannot be counted to satisfy category C)

D. Upper Level Communication Courses (6 credits)


  • COM 30000 - 59999 (any course)

Notes


  • If a student has undistributed transfer credit that was approved for the university core curriculum requirement in oral communication, that course may be substituted for COM 11400 /COM 21700 .
  • If a student has completed the university core curriculum requirement in oral Communication with a course other than COM 11400 or COM 21700, for that course to substitute in area A, the student must take COM 31400 (in which case the prerequisites for COM 31400 will be waived by the Lamb School) in either area C or D. Otherwise, either COM 11400 or 21700 is still required.
  • Students must be officially coded as communication minors to register for many classes.
  • Communication majors have priority in all COM classes.
  • A grade of “C-” or better for this minor. The P/NP option is not available to complete this minor.

College of Liberal Arts Pass/No Pass Option Policy


  • P/NP cannot be used to satisfy Liberal Arts Core, Liberal Arts major, minor, or certificate requirements.
