Politics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Concentration for Political Science

About the Concentration
This concentration explores how political systems address long-standing challenges of economic, ethnic, racial, religious and other forms of structural disadvantage, discrimination, and inequality. Students in this concentration gain knowledge of how governments and civil society deal with these challenges at the local, national, and international levels. Students explore theories and examples of how political elites and citizens create inclusive communities and gain expertise on policy issues related to diversity, inequality, and justice in domestic and international settings. This concentration serves as a foundation for graduate education, law school, and employment paths in government, advocacy organizations, nonprofit organizations, and corporations.
Concentration Courses (12 credits)
Students must complete 12 credit hours from the courses below with at least 3 credit hours selected at the level of 30000 or above. |
