American Politics Concentration for Political Science

About the Concentration
This concentration explores the political institutions, groups, processes, and behavior in the United States political context. Students who select this concentration will explore the underlying logic of political institutions and their procedures, how and why they change, and how they shape political influence in American politics. This concentration also examines the role of the public, parties, media, interest organizations, and leaders in shaping domestic political outcomes. This concentration prepares students for public, private, or nonprofit careers and civic engagement in American politics.
Concentration Requirement (12 credits)
Required Foundation Courses (3 credits)
Students must complete ONE of the following courses. POL10100 is recommended but students with AP credit may select an alternative course.
Selectives (9 credits)
Students must complete 9 credit hours from the courses below with at least 3 credit hours selected at the level of 30000 or above. |
