About the Minor
Before undertaking this minor, the student must establish proficiency equivalent to French Level IV. Proficiency may be established by taking and passing FR 20200 , by examination, or by other evidence acceptable to the Department.
Requirements for the Minor (15 credits)
A. Required French Language Courses (6 credits)
B. Required French Literature Course (3 credits)
C. French Electives (6 credits)

Notes
- 50% of credits for CLA minors must come from Purdue University.
- Before undertaking this minor, the student must establish proficiency equivalent to French IV. Proficiency may be established by taking and passing FR 20200 or FR 20500 , by examination, or by other evidence acceptable to the Department.
- A minimum grade of C required in each course.
- A minimum GPA of “B-” (2.67/4.0) in the minor is required for the student to graduate with a French minor.
- No Departmental credit beyond FR 20200 nor credit by exam may be counted toward the minor.
- This minor may not overlap with any other French Minor or Major.
College of Liberal Arts Pass/No Pass Option Policy
- P/NP cannot be used to satisfy Liberal Arts Core, Liberal Arts major, minor, or certificate requirements.
